Eight persons have been arrested in connection with the killing of a 32-year-old man, Nyamkyegh Mpalegh, who was allegedly beaten and buried alive in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.

Security sources said the incident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on April 27 in Tse-Bata community, Mbakyagher Council Ward.

The sources disclosed that the victim was reportedly assaulted before being buried alive by the suspects under circumstances that are still being investigated.

According to the sources, a security team was mobilised to the area following the report, leading to the arrest of eight suspects believed to be connected to the crime.

The sources added that the body of the victim was later exhumed and deposited at a mortuary for further examination.

They noted that investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the killing and ensure that all those involved are brought to justice. (Zagazola, but headline rejigged)
