Troops of the Nigerian Army under the 12 Brigade have disrupted a terrorist logistics network in Kogi State, arresting key suspects and intercepting a cache of ammunition.
According to a statement by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Hassan Abdullahi, the operation followed months of intensified intelligence-driven efforts to dismantle terrorist supply chains in the area.
The breakthrough began on March 29, 2026, when troops intercepted a suspect along the Jamata–Owara road in Lokoja Local Government Area. The individual was found with a specially modified motorcycle containing a concealed compartment used to transport ammunition.

Further investigations led to the arrest of a high-profile courier, Mathew Elisha (alias Nasara), who had been on security watchlists and linked to known terrorist elements.
Building on this, troops mounted a snap checkpoint on April 20 along the Obajana–Kabba road, where they intercepted a Toyota bus conveying two suspected logistics couriers from Makurdi.
The suspects, identified as Mallam Zubairu Abubakar and Adamu Abubakar Abdullahi, were found in possession of 314 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and three AK-47 magazines concealed inside the vehicle.

Additional items recovered included mobile phones, identification documents, and personal effects. The suspects and exhibits have since been handed over to military intelligence authorities for further investigation.
The Army said the operation underscores its proactive approach in denying terrorists freedom of movement and disrupting their supply routes, reaffirming its commitment to sustaining pressure on criminal networks. (Arise News)
