The Delta State Police Command has recorded major successes in its ongoing operations against crime, arresting suspected drug dealers and recovering large quantities of illicit substances during coordinated raids across the state.
Spokesman Bright Edafe revealed in a statement on Saturday that operatives recovered two large bags and 300 small cans of substances suspected to be “Canadian Loud,” along with 30 bottles of CSC codeine, 10 sachets of tramadol, two sachets of “Super Royal” (Redboy), 12 sachets of Swinol, 12 pieces of Molly drugs, and 400 empty distribution cans.
The Command said in one operation carried out on April 15, 2026, operatives of the Otorerokpe Division raided a suspected drug hideout in Ugholo Community at about 10:23 p.m.
It indicated that a 33-year-old woman, identified as Justina Onokpasa, was arrested at the scene.
In a related operation on April 16 at about 11:45 a.m., Edafe said operatives of the State Anti-Cult Unit raided identified drug spots in Abraka, leading to the arrest of three suspects.
He said large quantities of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit drugs were recovered during the raid.
He stated that all suspects are currently in police custody, while investigations are ongoing.
The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, Yemi Oyeniyi, commended the operatives for their efforts and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining the crackdown on criminal activities.
He also urged members of the public to support the police with credible information.
