Lauren Sánchez Bezos is open to the idea of welcoming a baby with husband Jeff Bezos.
While speaking to The New York Times for an article published on Saturday, April 11, the Emmy-winning journalist and former news anchor, 56, said she would absolutely consider welcoming a new addition to her and Jeff’s blended family of seven kids from their previous relationships.
“I would have another one tomorrow. Tomorrow,” Lauren told the outlet, after which a spokesperson clarified that she was not expecting a child. “I would have a baby tomorrow.”
Lauren and Jeff tied the knot in a star-studded Venice wedding on June 27, merging their two families together.
The Amazon founder, 62, shares four kids — three sons and one daughter — with ex-wife MacKenzie Scott. Meanwhile, Lauren shares son Nikko, 25, with ex-boyfriend Tony Gonzales, and son Evan, 19, and daughter Ella, 18, with ex-husband Patrick Whitesell.
Along with emphasizing that she is not yet closing the door to having more children, Lauren previously told Today in March that getting to hear each of her kids give speeches was “the most meaningful and impactful moment” of her and Jeff’s wedding day — especially since she’d spent some time helping one of her sons in his journey with dyslexia.
"The biggest moment was with my kids. They all got to do speeches,” she recalled at the time. “Jeff's kids did speeches, my kids, and one of my kids, who is dyslexic — and he lets me talk about it — went up there and talked about a moment that was extremely important to him, and I had no idea what he was going to say.”
"He was in the fourth grade and not writing well and he wrote this sentence that says, 'I can do this.’ And it was his first sentence," she continued of her son Evan. "I blew it up and I put it in our kitchen, and it says, 'I can do this.' Anyway, he talked about how special that moment was for him."
While chatting with Extra a few days later, Lauren admitted that the speech her daughter Ella gave during the ceremony was so emotional that it moved her to tears.
"All of our kids gave speeches, mine and Jeff’s, and they were all so meaningful," she told the outlet. "My daughter gave a speech during the ceremony, this was before we said our vows, and [I] started bawling. Like, I could not — I'm like, 'Oh, my gosh' right before the pictures." (People)
