Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condoled with families of victims of recent terrorist attacks in Borno and Niger states.
In a post on his X handle on Friday, the Waziri Adamawa said he was deeply saddened by the killing of Brigadier-General O. Braimah, Commander of the 29 Task Force Brigade, alongside soldiers and the brigade’s Imam, in a Boko Haram attack on Benisheikh.
“To his dear wife, his brother Alasa, and the entire Braimah family, I extend my deepest condolences. We honour his supreme sacrifice, and the daily sacrifices of all the brave men and women who stand on the frontlines to keep our nation safe. May their service not be in vain.
“May Allah grant them Aljannah Firdaus and comfort the families they leave behind,” he said.
In a separate post, the presidential aspirant on the platform of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) described the attacks on Bagna and Erena communities in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State as “profoundly heartbreaking.”
He noted that the attacks claimed many lives, including those of security personnel.
Atiku extended his condolences to the bereaved families, particularly those of the fallen security operatives, and urged the government to take more decisive action to protect civilians, expedite relief efforts, and strengthen support for frontline forces.
“May the departed rest in peace, and may enduring peace return to our land,” he prayed. (TRIBUNE)
