COMBO of Bayelsa NDC Chairman, Hon Dauprebo Ikuromo, and defectors
The Bayelsa Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Dauprebo Ikuromo, on Monday charged the teaming defectors from the APC, PDP and other political parties to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to be steadfast and committed to the political Ideology of the party.
Ikuromo gave the charge shortly after a defection rally held at the NDC Secretariat, along Isaac Boro Expressway in Yenagoa, where a popular politician known as Youths Governor, Doubara Kumokou defected from the PDP to the NDC.
He said the NDC founded by an Ijaw leader was already making great impact in the national polity, adding that the acceptance the party was getting from the grassroots was an indication that a political renaissance is unfolding in Bayelsa.
The NDC Chairman called on all politicians in the state to find their lost voices in the NDC platform as a vehicle for their political upliftment and service to the people of Bayelsa State, stressing that the party is people centered.
Ikuromo expressed appreciation to the founder of the NDC, Senator Seriake Dickson; the National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleapas; the Member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly representing Kolokuma/Opokuma Constituency II, Hon. Wisdom Fafi, and his Constituency I counterpart, Hon. Godbless Oyinke; High Chief Seles Saboh, Senior Comrade Doubara Komukou, and Chief Fyneman Wilson for the great work they are doing to grow the party.
The NDC Chairman also thanked the teaming supporters of the party across the state, adding that it was morning for the NDC but by evening the NDC will make Bayelsa and its people great.
He, however, noted that the party will continue to champion peace and enhance growth through service to the people.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Kumokou noted that he found the newly registered political party suitable as the party’s ideology aligns with his ideals for youths.
He pledged to work aggressively for the penetration and wide acceptance of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
