The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Bayelsa State Command, said it has arrested a notorious kingpin, Collins Chemezie, with controlled substances valued at N3 million.
The suspect, who owns a pharmacy in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, has been on the agency’s watch list for two years.
State Commander, Mr Kanu Chukwuemeka, commended his officers for maintaining a high level of professionalism in the tracking and subsequent arrest of the suspect.
He warned drug dealers and traffickers to desist from crime or face the full wrath of the law.
He said the suspect, who was arrested on March 26, 2026, had in his possession 1,030 tablets/caplets of various controlled and hard drugs.
The drugs, according to Chukwuemeka, include Tramadol 200mg, Tramadol 100mg, Swinol/Rophnol, Diazepam, Molly (a designer drug), totalling 1,900 tablets/caplets, 150 bottles of Diazepam and pentazocine injection, and 77 bottles of codeine.
Chukwuemeka described the suspect as an “unrepentant, notorious drug distributor of controlled and hard drugs.”
He commended the NDLEA boss, Brig. Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd), for his visionary leadership through an intelligence-led framework in the fight against drug abuse/trafficking.
He also thanked the Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Douye Diri, for his full support to the command in its fight against drug abuse. (The Nation)
