The Governing Council of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS), has dismissed a staff member, Malam Garba Ahmed, over alleged involvement in the fraudulent mobilisation of unqualified students for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The decision was announced in an official bulletin issued by the University’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Ismaila Mohammed Yauri, following the institution’s 176th Governing Council meeting held on Tuesday, April 1, 2026.

According to the statement, Malam Garba Ahmed, who served in the Registry Department prior to his dismissal, was found guilty of illegally uploading the names of unqualified students for NYSC mobilization.

“The dismissal takes effect from the date of the Council’s decision,” the statement noted.

The University reiterated its commitments to discipline and ethical standards, emphasising its zero-tolerance stance on acts of gross misconduct.

“The University’s Governing Council maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward the act of gross misconduct,” the statement added. (TRIBUNE)
