The Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) has given individual taxpayers an additional month to submit their annual income tax returns, extending the deadline from March 31 to April 30, 2026.
The Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT-IRS, Mr. Michael Ango, said the extension is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the territory’s digital tax administration and make filing simpler and more secure for residents.
Head, Corporate Communications of the FCT-IRS, Mustapha Samaila, quoted Ango as saying the extension was aimed at improving compliance and ensuring that all taxpayers could submit accurate returns
He therefore urged Abuja’s growing population and expanding workforce, to embrace voluntary compliance as a civic duty that contributes to national development.
