Christian Association of Nigeria Women Wing (WOWICAN), Anambra State, Idemili North LGA Chapter marked the International Women’s Day with an explosive, incisive, and intellectually enriching seminar.
The seminar, the theme of which is, “Give To Gain, Empowering Women, Enriching All”, took place at the cavernous hall of the Idemili North LGA Headquarters, Ogidi on March 30, 2026.
The event attracted Christian women, who come from diverse Christian denominations, and who believe that women should be empowered and treated with respect, not minding their gender, in order for them to realize their potentialities.
During the event, TPL (Mrs) Chinwendu Ihemtuge gave a lecture that dwelt on mentorship, the relationship between a mentor and a mentee, and the different types of mentorship.
“While upholding the divine and supreme mentorship of Jesus Christ, who is our lord and savior, Ihemtuge posited that mentorship is about sharing knowledge and perspectives with a mentee, which are geared to help the mentee achieve his or her goals
“Mentorship has to do with sharing knowledge and perspectives with a mentee to help him or her grow.
“But Jesus Christ is our mentor as we depend on His words for guidance,” Ihemtuge said.
She further explained that mentorship is a partnership between a mentor and a mentee, and urged mentees to show gratitude to their mentors.
Thereafter, TPL Ihemtuge listed the types of mentorship we have as: Traditional Mentorship, Group Mentorship, Peer Mentorship, and Reverse Mentorship.
More so, as the participants were rounding off the seminar/lecture programme, they lifted aloft their big cards, which bore inscriptions that depicted the essence and reasons for the seminar.
Some of the inscriptions on the cards read: Give opportunities, Gain Equality; Safe Space For All, Stop The Hurt; Give to Women, Gain a Brighter Future; Break The Chain, End Gender-Based Violence; and others
