The development was announced in a statement issued on Thursday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
The statement added that the decision is part of an ongoing strategic realignment of government structures aimed at improving efficiency, ensuring systematic growth and promoting sustainable development across the state.
According to the statement, Sagagi has been directed to hand over the affairs of the ministry to the Director of Commerce pending further directives.
Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation for the contributions of the former commissioner during his tenure, noting that his efforts supported the advancement of key sectors of the state’s economy.
He specifically acknowledged Sagagi’s role in political engagement, religious outreach and the promotion of small and medium enterprises, which he described as vital to economic growth and job creation.
