Nasarawa State Gov, Abdullahi Sule
Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has revealed details of a late-night meeting with President Bola Tinubu and other governors in Lagos.
The discussions focused on security concerns and preparations for the All Progressives Congress (APC) convention.
Sule spoke during his investiture as Patron of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations in Abuja on Monday.
He explained that the tight schedule of governors forced a last-minute relocation of the ceremony from Lafia, Nasarawa State, to the nation's capital.
“Yesterday, most of the governors were in Lagos to meet with Mr President. After lunch, we had a lengthy meeting, especially on areas of security, which we presented before the President,” Sule said.
He added that the discussions extended late into the night, focusing on strategies for the upcoming APC convention. “The meeting lasted until after 2 am today,” he noted.
Sule expressed gratitude for the flexibility that allowed his investiture to proceed in Abuja, emphasizing that the venue change was due to scheduling conflicts, not a shift in priorities.
The governor’s disclosure highlights the emphasis the APC leadership is placing on security and organizational preparedness ahead of the party’s convention, as well as the coordination efforts among state governors under President Tinubu’s guidance. (The Sun)
