Igboebisi, some ADC and the donated plastic buckets
By CHIEDU UCHE OKOYE
Hon. Obinna Igboebisi, an African Democratic Congress (ADC) big gun, has lent huge support to the party’s online registration of members in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State by donating money to ADC officers overseeing the registration exercise and giving gifts of plastic buckets to newly registered ADC members.
Igboebisi who once aspired to represent Idemili North Constituency in the Anambra Assembly spoke to this journalist at Obosi during the party’s periodic meeting, which coincided with the commencement of the party’s online registration of members.
“This online registration of new members is important as the use of delegates to elect parties’ candidates for elective posts has been abrogated.
“So I am urging all ADC members to register, digitally, in order for them to be eligible to participate in the election of the party’s candidates for various elective posts,” Igboebisi said.
Hon. Obinna Igboebisi, who is a member of the renowned Igboebisi family in the ancient town of Obosi, visited all the ADC offices in the towns that make up Idemili North LGA.
In each town, which he visited, he gave the ADC officers overseeing the registration of members princely sums of money for the purchase of items needed for the registration.
And those, who registered, digitally, as members of the ADC, received gifts of plastic buckets from him.
“I gave money to ADC officers at each ward for the purchase of items needed for the registration.
“And I gave gifts of plastic buckets to newly and digitally registered ADC members as tokens of our appreciation for their Identifying with ADC, “ Igboebisi said.
At the ADC office in Ogidi, a great number of people turned out to register, digitally, as ADC members. And Chief Lawrence Igweokolo, an ADC chieftain in the town, poured encomiums on Hon. Igboebisi for sustaining the tempo of ADC’s online registration of members in Idemili North LGA.
“What we need from you is cooperation and support. And the visit you paid us, coupled with your financial support and gifts of buckets, have boosted our morale, and deepened our love for you.
“Our promise is that we shall continue to remain punctual, loyal, and committed to carrying out the assignments given to us,” Igweokolo said.
Also, the ADC chairman in the town of Oraukwu, Hon. Obiora Ezechi, made the promise that ADC leaders in the town would visit ADC members in Oraukwu to persuade them to register, digitally, as members of the party.
Beside Obosi, Ogidi, and Oraukwu, other towns visited by Hon. Obinna Igboebisi were Nkpor, Abacha, Ideani, Abatete, Uke, and Eziowelle.
