Scene of a mob action involving a suspected phone thief in Kano State
A suspected phone thief was set on fire by an angry mob in Dorayi Quarters, Karshen Waya area of Kano State, following an alleged attempt to snatch a woman’s mobile phone.
Reports indicated that the incident occurred after the suspect attacked the woman, stabbing her in the chest with a knife during the struggle. The action reportedly triggered outrage among residents, particularly youths in the area, who descended on the suspect and set him ablaze.
The injured woman was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment. Meanwhile, security operatives later arrived at the scene and took the suspect into custody for further investigation.
As of the time of filing this report, the Kano State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the incident.
