Gombe State PPRO Buhari Abdullahi
A 15-year-old girl, Aisha Abubakar, who went missing in Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State, has been found dead in a hole in a bush at the outskirts of her village.
Aisha reportedly went missing on Monday after she was sent on an errand by her parents. Her body was discovered on Tuesday, throwing the community into shock and mourning.
According to sources, the teenager was sent to buy soya beans at about 5:40 p.m. on Monday but did not return home. Her disappearance immediately raised concern among family members and residents, who began searching for her.
The search ended on Tuesday when her lifeless body was found in a hole in a bush near the village.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Gombe State Police Command, Buhari Abdullahi, confirmed the incident when contacted by our correspondent.
He said the command received a report of a culpable homicide from the victim’s father, Malam Abubakar.
Abdullahi stated that police detectives promptly visited the scene and documented their findings, adding that an investigation had been launched.
“Preliminary observation showed signs of violence, with parts of the body mutilated. The corpse was evacuated to the hospital for medical examination,” he said.
“Investigations into the incident is ongoing, and efforts are being made to identify and arrest the perpetrators.” (The Guardian)
