FTRA, govt’s representatives, others to delibrate on issues affecting communities on Saturday

The quarterly general meeting of the Festac Town Residents Association (FTRA), will hold on November 1, at the Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area Secretariat, Festac Town, Lagos State.

The meeting, themed ‘Mega Summit’, will gather residents, government’s representatives and stakeholders from across Festac Town to deliberate on issues affecting the community and chart a course for development.

According to the organisers, the choice of venue for the meeting was strategic, as it serves as a central and symbolic location for uniting the diverse communities within the estate.

The Managing Director of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Oyetunde Ojo, is expected to attend the meeting.

The meeting, according to the release signed by the FTRA’s Publicity Secretary, Comrade Toyese Adewopo, will focus on several pressing issues, including security, electricity, environmental management, economic empowerment, infrastructure and community unity within Africa’s largest federal housing estate.

Ojo said the Federal Housing Authority is aware of the concerns raised by residents over recent demolitions and other related matters, assuring that the issues will be addressed during the meeting, and that the FHA is committed to restoring residents’ confidence and improving living conditions in Festac Town.

While commending the chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area, Prince Lanre Sanusi, for ongoing infrastructural and environmental improvements in the area, Ojo promised accelerated transformation under a collaborative leadership model focused on the needs of the people.

The president of FTRA, Adesina Mohammed Adegbenro, urged residents to attend the meeting in large numbers, noting that many of their longstanding concerns will receive attention.

Prince Lanre Sanusi, who will also attend the meeting, reaffirmed his administration open-door policy, stressing his commitment to engaging with residents and ensuring responsive governance.

Meanwhile, the hosting community, Community 2, has inaugurated a planning committee led by publicity secretary, Mr. Kola Folorunso, to coordinate arrangements and ensure a successful event. (TRIBUNE)
