Adeboye speaks during his condolence visit to late Uma Ukpais family
The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye on Monday paid a condolence visit to the family of his late friend, Dr. Uma Ukpai.
Adeboye, who is fondly called Daddy GO by admirers, disclosed this in a statement shared on Facebook.
Ukpai died aged 80 on October 6.
Adeboye commiserated with the widow of the deceased, Pastor Philomena Ukpai and the entire family over his passing.
He noted that the celebrated evangelist has not “died, he has only changed address, moving from the field of battle to the presence of his Commander-in-Chief.”
The statement reads, “Earlier today, I paid a condolence visit to the residence of my dear friend and brother, Reverend Umai Ukpai, who has gone to be with the Lord.
“Reverend Umai Ukpai was not just a minister of the gospel, he was a true general in the army of our God, a man of unshakable faith, quiet strength, and uncommon humility.
“His life was a living sermon, one that spoke louder than words, a story of service, of love for God’s people, and of steadfast devotion to the Kingdom.
“He has fought the good fight. He has finished his course.
“And now, he rests in the everlasting arms of the Almighty, where there is no more pain, no more striving: only peace, joy, and glory.
“To his beloved wife, Pastor Philomena Ukpai, and the entire Ukpai family, we extend our heartfelt prayers and deepest sympathies. May the Lord Himself wrap you in His unfailing love, comfort your hearts, and strengthen you in this valley of loss
“My friend has not died, he has only changed address, moving from the field of battle to the presence of his Commander-in-Chief.
“He is home. He is at rest. He is in the arms of God Almighty.” (The Sun)
