Bandits open fire on worshippers in Zamfara, abduct five, injure one




Armed bandits have abducted five worshippers and injured one person during an early morning attack on Maradawa village in Rijiya District, Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

A report by security blogger Zagazola said that the mosque attack occurred at about 5:45 a.m. yesterday, Thursday, October 16, 2025, while residents were observing the Subhi (dawn) prayers.

The hoodlums reportedly opened fire on the worshippers, wounding one person before abducting five others to an unknown destination.

Troops later visited the scene, and the injured victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The troops have been deployed to the area and is currently on the trail of the attackers to rescue the victims and restore normalcy.
