Police detain 105 suspected drug peddlers in Jigawa

The police in Jigawa State have detained 105 suspects over alleged drug peddling.

The spokesman of the command, SP Shiisu Lawan, confirmed the development in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Tuesday in Dutse.

He said operatives of the command nabbed the suspects following simultaneous raids between October 6th and 13th, across the state.

Lawan said the police recovered over 5,000 different illicit drugs, narcotic substances and cash from the suspects.

He listed the seized drugs to include 2,341 tablets of exol; 1,146 D-5 tablets, 270 tramadol tablets, a pecel and 1,042 wraps of marijuana, 10 tablets of Diazepam, 53 pieces of rubber solution, N92,460, among others.

The spokesman said the command had prosecuted 50 out of the 105 suspects, while the remaining would be charged to court on completion of investigations. (NAN)
