The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Ondo State Chapter, has issued a fresh seven-day strike ultimatum over the non-implementation of the Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure (CONLESS) for its members.
The ultimatum to the state government is contained in a letter made available on Tuesday in Akure, and jointly signed by the association’s state Chairman, Comrade Helen Oluwafemi and the state Secretary, Comrade Akinyemi Adeyemi.
The letter was submitted to the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Chief Olamide Oladiji.
It said the new ultimatum followed the expiration of an earlier 21-day and 14-day notices issued on Aug. 22 and Sept. 23, 2025, respectively.
The letter also said the government was insensitive to demand of the staff of the state House of Assembly and the Assembly Service Commission.
It added that the association had exhausted all lawful avenues to ensure the implementation of the salary structure, hence, the need for the final warning.
According to the letter, the seven-day ultimatum, which began on Monday, will expire on Sunday, Oct.19, 2025, thereafter, the association will embark on an indefinite strike if the government fails to meet its demands.
“The association will embark on an indefinite strike action if the Ondo State Government fails, refuses or neglects to respond to our request by implementing CONLESS for our workers.
“We sincerely want to place on record that the association is law-abiding and will not in any way obstruct the existing peace and harmony in the state,” the letter said.
It called on the state government to urgently address the issue to avert an industrial strike. (NAN)
