The Arewa Cohesion for Peace, Unity and Development (ACI) has applauded the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, describing it as a welcome and positive development that demonstrates President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical governance.

In a statement issued in Kaduna Wednesday October 8, 2025, by its Director-General, Dr. Abdullahi Idris, FNIPR, the organization commended President Tinubu for promptly accepting the minister’s resignation, saying such decisive action strengthens public confidence in the administration’s integrity and its zero-tolerance stance against misconduct.

“This is a commendable step that reinforces the principle that leadership is a sacred trust and that public officers must always uphold the highest standards of honesty and responsibility,” Dr. Idris stated. “The President’s action reflects a maturing democratic culture where accountability is not negotiable.”

The ACI urged other public officials to draw lessons from the development and conduct themselves with dignity, transparency, and respect for the trust reposed in them by Nigerians.

According to the group, leadership must be anchored on integrity and moral responsibility if the nation is to achieve sustainable progress and social cohesion.

Dr. Idris reaffirmed ACI’s support for all efforts aimed at promoting good governance, unity, and peace across the country, stressing that ethical conduct in public service remains key to national renewal.
