It was blood and tears yesterday, Saturday, Saturday, October 4, 2025, as dare-devil armed robbers struck at Onireke bus-stop opposite Ojo barracks, Lagos. Five people were reportedly killed during the operation while several others were injured. The robbers also allegedly snatched valuables from the people including money at gun point.
A report this morning by Sunday Sun said that the robbers shot sporadically, causing people to scamper for safety.
"A security man who witnessed the incident said the operation lasted 30 minutes. Before the police opposite Ojo Barracks and the military could reinforce, the robbers had escaped," the tabloid said.
It quoted the source as saying that the incident was the first such robbery attack to have taken place in the area.
"As at the time of filing this report, residents in the area were said to be tense wondering how such a robbery attack could have taken place opposite Ojo barracks, which is believed to be the largest military cantonment in Africa," the paper said.
