The Imo State Chapter of African Democratic Congress (ADC) has warned against “the activities of certain individuals who, under various guises, have resorted to convening unauthorized meetings purportedly in the name of the party.”
The party said “these Ill-motivated actions, calculated to create the false impression of a non-existent faction within the ADC in Imo State, are not only mischievous but stand as a direct affront to party discipline and unity.”
It stated that the state leadership of the party issued this stern warning for those involved in fanning the embers of discord and attempting to sow seeds of disunity must desist forthwith.
A statement issued on Saturday by ADC lmo State Publicity Secretary, Chief Macdonald Amadi, warned that failure to comply “will leave the party with no option but to wield its disciplinary hammer in full force, in accordance with the provisions of the party’s constitution and code of conduct.”
Part of the statement made available to News Express reads: “Every genuine grievance or concern raised by members is accorded due attention and addressed amicably through established internal mechanisms. Consequently, those who deliberately bypass these structures to engage in acts of sabotage will henceforth be treated as troublemakers and nonconformists.
“We urge all members with legitimate complaints or misunderstandings to approach the already constituted Reconciliation and Harmonization Committee, which exists specifically to mediate, resolve, and foster unity within our fold.
“This is the only recognized channel for resolving internal disputes – not clandestine meetings or divisive theatrics.”
The Party noted that ADC remains focused on building a formidable platform capable of delivering credible leadership and responsive governance to the people of Imo State.
It added that acts capable of distracting from this noble objective will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
