ADC Chieftain Akuma
A Chieftain of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nelson Ahamefula Akuma, has said that the continuous attack on ADC members trying to hold meetings all over the country by thugs working for the All Progressives Congress is nothing but sign of desperation.
Speaking while congratulating the new executive of the party on their recognition by the Independent National Electoral Commission, Akuma said that Nigerians have crossed the Rubicon and as such would never go back.
He said that Instead of focusing on how to deliver on their campaign promises to the Nigerian people, all that APC is doing is fabricating falsehood and visiting violence on innocent people.
However, he said that Nigerian masses are united in voting out the ruling party in 2027, adding that no amount of violence or falsehood would stop that.
“From Kebbi to Kaduna, from Kaduna to Lagos and now Ondo, APC thugs and security agencies are attacking coalition members just trying to hold their meetings. While freedom of association is clearly enshrined in our constitution. As far as I am concerned, this is a clear sign of desperation. The ruling party is now jittery, knowing full well that Nigerians have rejected them. However, I want to say that no amount of violence would stop the change of leadership that is coming in 2027.The train has already moved and what APC and their thugs are trying to do is to stop a moving train with bare hands. I also want to use this opportunity to congratulate the David Mark led ADC national executive on their recognition by INEC. It is a victory for the good people of Nigeria. We are about to cross the Red Sea and the Egyptians that we are seeing today we will see no more after 2027.”
Akuma said that Nigerian people are earnestly yearning for change of leadership because of the harrowing experience that they are going through under the ruling party.
He said that even the magnitude of suffering that Nigerians are going through now was not experienced during the civil war.
“I am appealing to the members of the African Democratic Congress all over the country to remain calm because two wrongs cannot make a right. The ruling party is jittery because they know that they have been rejected by the Nigerian people. What we are seeing all over the country is darkness fighting light but no matter how hard darkness fight, light must prevail. Good must triumph over evil,” Akuma said.
