Keshi names killer squad for the Battle of Monrovia

Super Eagles Manager, Stephen Keshi, has unveiled a killer squad to confront the Leone Star of Liberia this evening in the crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match in Monrovia.

The squad released through Super Eagles Media Officer Ben Alaiya reflects Keshi’s belief in home-based pros, thereby abolishing the home-based, foreign-based dichotomy in the team.

The squad to battle the Liberians at the Samuel Doe Stadium in the country’s capital comprises local and foreign players, including skipper Yobo Joseph and his deputy, goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama.

Lethal finisher Ikechukwu Uche is expected to lead the attack, with mesmerising Victor Moses providing the crosses from the left and Ejike Uzoenyi from the right.

The Eagles need to win the two-legged affair to make it to South Africa 2013 after failing to qualify for the last edition held early this year in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. “Big Boss” Keshi has vowed to resign if the team should fail to make it under his watch.

The list as released via Facebook by Alaiya is as follows:

1 Vincent Enyeama

12 Godfrey Oboabona

14 Juwon Oshaniwa

2 Joseph Yobo

6 Azubuike Egwueke

4 Obiora Nwankwo

17 Ejike Uzoenyi

15 Ikechukwu Uche

10 Nosa Igiebor

11 Victor Moses

9 Emmanuel Emenike

Reserves:

3 Elderson Echejile

5 Ambrose Efe

7 Ahmed Musa

8 Ideye Brown

13 Kalu Uche

18 Henry Uche
