The lawmaker representing Ido, Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, and Chairman, House Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Hon. Aderemi Oseni, has said the recently inaugurated Remi Oseni Committee of Friends with membership across the 33 local government areas in Oyo State would deliver over 10 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 poll.

Speaking with newsmen in Lagos yesterday, the lawmaker said the committee has no fewer than 200,000 members who share his vision for the rebirth of Oyo State with commitment to Tinubu’s re-election.

Daily Trust reports that President Tinubu is yet to officially declare for a second term, but leaders of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), various support groups, individuals including some key members of the opposition parties have endorsed him for re-election.

Oseni disclosed that the forum currently boasts of over 200,000 members in Oyo State, adding that the group is mobilizing citizens not only for good governance but also for the re-election of President Tinubu.

“Unlike 2023, when Nigeria recorded only 26.7 percent voter turnout in the general election, our vision is to change the narrative, educate our people to register for PVC and encourage them to perform their civic duty during the elections.

“In the South West alone, we have a vision to achieve at least 75 percent voter turnout and ensure that APC secures nothing less than 10 million votes in the presidential election,” he said.

Oseni assured that the forum’s efforts would be backed by continuous voter education and mobilisation, adding that the APC would leverage its reforms to secure support in Oyo State, the South West, and across Nigeria. (Daily Trust)
