A 30-year-old graduate of economics with a National Certificate of Education, Oluwatosin Adejumo, has narrated how she was employed by the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, as a chef at the Osun State Government House.
Oluwatosin disclosed in an interview how she lost her mother, and it became impossible for her to further her education.
“I lost my mum, and it became impossible to continue with my education. Along the way, I met a mother figure, Mrs Funmilayo Grace, who works as a caterer. I often followed her to work, and through that, I was able to save a bit. With the support from suppliers who gave me goods on credit, I repaid them through the sales after starting up my puff-puff business.”
Governor Adeleke was said to have sighted her while selling puff-puff and hailing him alongside others who were rejoicing during a solidarity walk. The governor invited her, bought everything she had prepared, and gave her N50,000 in cash.
“He asked me if I was a graduate, and I said yes. Then, he handed me over to a commissioner.
“He went on further to announce that I would no longer rely on my puff-puff business for survival. Instead, I was appointed as a chef at the Osun State Government House.” (Daily Sun)
