Sen John Azuta Mbata, President-General, Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo Worldwide
President-General of Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo Worldwide, Senator John Azuta Mbata, and the organization’s National Executive Committee (NEC) have resolved the crisis rocking the Lagos State chapter of the organisation.
The state chapter acknowledged Mbata’s intervention, describing it as a milestone in his unification project.
In a statement yesterday, the presidents of the state chapters noted that Mbata’s resolution of every crisis in the organisation would ensure the progress and development of Ndi-Igbo all over the world.
They said this would further unite and pursue their collective growth with patriotic zeal and commitment.
The chapters’ presidents, who signed the statement, include Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu (Anambra), Chris Obialor (Imo), Dr. Chukwuemeka Okwuonu (Abia), Justice Chibuzor (Ebonyi), Chief Ben Igunbor (Delta), and Livingstone Wechie (Rivers).
They urged the Lagos State President of the organisation, Chief Solomon Aguene, to rally stakeholders and ensure adherence to the directives and resolutions made at the settlement meeting, which was presided over by the President-General.
The chapters’ leaders stressed that as part of the agreements, all pending litigations must be dispensed with and an all-inclusive Ohanaeze election at the Lagos State chapter should be conducted between now and April 2026.
The state chapters said: “It is our minimum resolve that the resolutions at the meeting and directives by the President-General must be complied with strictly, as doing otherwise under any guise will not be acceptable.
“It is our prayer that this success recorded in Lagos should herald the end of the reckless factionalisation of Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo Worldwide at all levels. We must all acknowledge that our strength is in our unity. As we say, IgweBuike!
“May we further state that the only Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo Worldwide leadership known to Ndi-Igbo is led by Senator John Mbata. All efforts to adulterate Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo Worldwide for self-serving purposes and merchandising should be discountenanced.
“We warn strongly that Ndi-Igbo will no longer tolerate the shenanigans from those trading with Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo Worldwide to mislead the unsuspecting public and to gain cheap political patronage…”
“On this note, we call on all stakeholders in Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo and all Igbos across the world to come together and ensure that this era of Leadership should be a turning point in Ala-Igbo.” (The Nation)
