Gulfstream Delivers First Longest Range Business Jet in the World

Gulfstream Aerospace delivered its first G800, the world’s longest range business jet, following FAA and EASA certifications on April 16, 2025.

This milestone highlights the G800’s advanced features, completed at Gulfstream’s Appleton, Wisconsin (ATW) facility, setting new standards in range and cabin comfort.

With a range of 8,200 nautical miles (15,186 km) at Mach 0.85, it offers unmatched performance for intercontinental travel.

Gulfstream G800 First Delivery

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. announced the first customer delivery of the G800, which boasts a range of 8,200 nautical miles at Mach 0.85. The aircraft underwent outfitting at the Appleton (ATW) completions center.

Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream, expressed excitement over high demand and praised the team’s maturity in program execution, similar to the G700. This delivery marks a key achievement for Gulfstream’s next-generation fleet.

The G800 recently won the 2025 International Yacht & Aviation Award for Private Jet Design. It offers the lowest cabin altitude at 2,840 feet when cruising at 41,000 feet.

Features include 100% fresh air, plasma ionization purification, and 16 panoramic oval windows. Configurations support up to four living areas or three with a crew compartment.

Certifications confirmed enhanced performance, including 7,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.90 and 8,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.87. Maximum operating speed rose to Mach 0.935.

The G800 flies farther than any business jet, enabling nonstop global routes. It achieves 8,200 nautical miles at long-range cruise and maintains high speeds without compromising efficiency.

The G800’s debut aligns with Gulfstream’s strategy to deliver technologically advanced jets with mature, proven platforms.

The company previously achieved similar success with the G700, which entered service with high program maturity, and aims to replicate that reliability for its latest flagship.

Industry Recognition

The Gulfstream G800 was recently awarded the 2025 International Yacht & Aviation Award for Private Jet Design. This recognition highlights its cabin innovations, design efficiency, and passenger-focused features.

Gulfstream’s emphasis on combining performance with luxury design has helped secure its position among leaders in private aviation.

The G800 joins the next-generation Gulfstream family, which includes the G400, G500, G600, and G700, alongside the super midsize G280.

Each aircraft is backed by Gulfstream Customer Support, which operates globally with comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul capabilities.

Production Excellence

The Gulfstream Appleton site, where the first G800 was completed, is a cornerstone of the company’s production network.

The facility features large cabin completions operations, a state-of-the-art custom paint hangar capable of handling up to 48 aircraft annually, and a modernized Customer Support center.

These investments reflect Gulfstream’s commitment to quality, efficiency, and sustaining future demand.

The company, backed by parent firm General Dynamics, continues to expand its facilities and services worldwide.

With more than 3,300 Gulfstream aircraft currently in service, its long-term strategy includes ongoing investments in research, development, and customer care.(AviationA2Z)
