Niger Delta youth leader Lucky OO Ukueku
Comr. Lucky O.O Ukueku, National President of the Niger Delta Youth For Good Governance, has issued a passionate call for peace among the Ijaw, Urhobo, and Itsekiri communities in the Niger Delta region. He emphasized “the interconnectedness of these tribes through intermarriage and shared heritage,” condemning the ongoing crisis and urging youths to look beyond tribal sentiments.
Comr. Ukueku in a statement issued on Monday appealed to community leaders to promote unity and to the government to intervene in resolving communal issues, prioritizing regional development and the well-being of future generations.
“I am urging all youths to put aside differences and work towards a better tomorrow. We should think beyond community issues and strategize to develop ourselves and build our region together for the sake of our unborn children and the interest of our region,” Ukueke said.
“I call for peace and commend the Government for their efforts. I also call on security agencies to engage with communities and resolve issues. To the Niger Delta Governors, I urge them to do the needful and resolve boundary adjustment issues in all communities across the Niger Delta, especially the Delta State Governor, under whose leadership Delta communities have been having communal conflicts – he should try and do the needful,” the Delta youth leader added.
