The Amuda Town Development Union (ATDU) Women’s Wing would hold its annual August Meeting from August 28 to 30, 2025, which will culminate in the commissioning of the Amuda Fashion House Project as part of the grand finale at the Peace Comprehensive School Field, Amuda.
Amuda is in Isuochi Community, in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.
This year’s August Meeting, tagged “Nwalowa 2025”, marks yet another milestone in the efforts of Amuda women to build a stronger, progressive, and empowered community. According to the chairperson of ATDU Women Wing, Lady Njideka Frank-Eme (PhD), the event would feature homecoming activities, cultural displays, women’s sessions, and developmental initiatives, with the high point being the inauguration of the Fashion House Project.
She said that this year's August Meeting promises to be historic for Amuda women, adding that the highlight would be the commissioning of the Fashion House Project, designed to give their youths hands-on training in fashion, sewing, fabric management, and related management skills.
According to her, it is their own way of empowering Amuda girls and young women to be useful to themselves, their families, and society at large.
Speaking further, she said that the Amuda Fashion House Project is equipped with modern sewing machines, training facilities, and accessories that would serve as a skill acquisition hub for young people in the community.
According to Lady Frank-Eme, the project was conceived after careful deliberations by her executive:
Her words, “We believe this centre will help our youths develop their potentials, become gainfully employed, and contribute positively to the development of Amuda. It will also help to reduce crime and idleness while promoting entrepreneurship and self-reliance.”
The chair person emphasized that the Fashion House is only the beginning.
“This project is one among many that our women executives have planned for the growth and development of Amuda. We are committed to doing even more to uplift the Amuda woman and prepare our youths for a brighter future.”
On her part, the Chairperson of the 2025 August Meeting Planning Committee (Women Wing), Eziada Queen Chibugo Onyeagab, urged Amuda youths to embrace the opportunity. “We call on our sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora, to support this laudable project and encourage our youths to take full advantage of it,” she said.
With the commissioning of the Fashion House Project, the Amuda August Meeting 2025 is set to leave a lasting legacy of empowerment, unity, and progress.
