Road construction in Ekiti State
Travellers heading into Ekiti State have been urged to make use of designated alternative routes as rehabilitation works continue on some of the state’s major highways.
In a travel advisory released through its official website, the government assured road users that ongoing efforts by both the Federal and Ekiti State governments will soon deliver lasting improvements.
Authorities have announced alternative routes into Ado-Ekiti to ease travel for motorists.
“Travelers are advised to make use of alternative routes for a smoother and stress-free journey into Ado Ekiti. Whether you are coming from Lagos, Ibadan, Akure, or Abuja, these alternative routes have been mapped out to ease your travel experience while road works progress,” the advisory stated.
According to the release also shared on its X page on Saturday, for those coming from Lagos or Ibadan, the government recommended the following route: Iwaraja ? Efon ? Ipole ? Ikogosi ? Erijinyan ? Ilawe ? Ado Ekiti.
From Akure, motorists are advised to follow: Akure ? Igbara-Oke ? Igbara-Odo ? Ilawe ? Ado Ekiti.
Travelers from Abuja are directed through: Kabba ? Irun-Akoko ? Iro-Ekiti ? Isinbode ? Ikole ? Igbemo ? Ekiti Ring Road ? Ado Ekiti.
The advisory stressed that the diversions were temporary but necessary to ensure comfort during the rehabilitation period.
“This initiative is designed to make your journey into Ado Ekiti smoother and stress-free as both the Federal and State governments intensify road works across key networks,” it noted.
The government also encouraged travellers to remain patient while the works continue, assuring that the upgraded roads will significantly ease movement, boost commerce, and improve access to the state capital. (The PUNCH)
