A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and stakeholder from Kano, Hon. Abdullahi Umar, has described as "a rape and desecration of civil, or democratic rule, being perpetrated by the Tinubu-led APC government.

Hon Umar was responding to declaration by erstwhile national vice chairman and gubernatorial candidate of the party in Gombe state, Alh. Nafiu Bala, where he challenged the leadership of Sen. David Mark.

Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, Thursday, Hon Umar said: “It has now become crystal clear that, the APC and president Tinubu are scared of any form of opposition, hence their desperate attempt to cripple, silence and obliterate all forms of dissent. Multiparty and liberal democracy, is pivotal deepening justice, freedom and rule of law".

He continued: "These patterns of infiltrating opposition parties, by the APC/Tinubu led federal government does not begin with the ADC. In fact, they destroyed the PDP, LP, SDP, and they are relentlessly pushing to do the same using unpatriotic elements like Mr. Dumebi Kachikwu, and now Alhaji Nafiu Bala, who's from the part of Nigeria where 36 people were slaughtered in broad day light in Zamfara, 50 in Katsina and over 100 were massacred in Kebbi by the insurgents made me to wonder the success the APC led administration are claiming in the recent past'.

Speaking further, Hon Umar said: “President Tinubu, professes to be a democrat. But contrary to that, he is a democrat in the day, and an anti-democrat at night. If he, Tinubu is confidence of his stewardship to Nigerians, he should test his popularity in a free, fair and open contest during elections. Why is he scampering to dislodge opposition?

“Let it be known, thousands of paid APC stooges and infiltrators like Nafiu Bala, cannot stop a movement. The ADC is a viable option Nigerians chose to redeem and bring succour to them".

He further called on all Nigerians to reject the APC, and their latest paid agent, Alhaji Nafiu Bala, stating that, “Our party's constitution has been adhered to, in the transfer of leadership, and lawfully recognized our leaders, like the interim National Chairman, Senator David Mark, national Secretary HE Rauf Aregbesola and other major stakeholders".
