Anambra ADC guber candidate, Mr Peter Nwosu

By PAMELA EBOH, Awka

As campaigns for the November 8 governorship election in Anambra hot up, women from the 21 local government areas of the state have affirmed their unreserved support for the governorship candidate of the All Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr. Peter Nwosu.

The women, who recently converged at Nwosu’s campaign headquarters in Awka, assured the governorship hopeful that his campaign platform – especially the pillars concerning security, economy, health, and social welfare – resonated with them.

They also expressed appreciation for his decision to run, saying that Anambra State needed not just a credible alternative to the incumbent government, but a leader whose mantra rests on equity and empathy.

In his speech, Nwosu stated that women, mothers, wives, widows and single parents were bearing the brunt of bad governance, bad economy and pervasive insecurity.

He reassured the women that they would be well represented in his ongoing campaign and in his incoming administration, disclosing that the gender ratio in appointive positions would be 60:40.
