Labour Party (LP) chieftain and former deputy governorship candidate of the Party in Enugu State, Dr John Nwokeabia, has called on the coalition’of political parties in the country to pick the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, as the sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

Dr Nwokeabia, in a statement, cautioned members of the coalition to avoid any conflict that will affect the success of the coalition and warned against repeating the mistakes of the 2023 elections, where wrong choices were allegedly made to lose the election.

“The coalition’s success hinges on its ability to unite behind a strong candidate, and that candidate is Peter Obi. By choosing Obi, the coalition would not only be selecting a leader but also embracing a movement that has proven its strength and resilience.

“Members of the coalition must emphasise the importance of sacrifice and unity within the coalition because the path to unprecedented victory lies in the willingness of its members to make significant sacrifices to ensure unity of purpose.

“We must avoid the repeat of the mistakes of the 2023 elections, where wrong choices were made, and this is the time for the coalition to rally behind Peter Obi as their sole presidential candidate.

“The endorsement of Peter Obi should be rooted in his competence and conviction that his leadership is the key to securing a resounding victory for the coalition.

“The 2023 presidential election results were proof that Peter Obi’s name has transcended being just a brand; it has become a movement that will endure across generations.

“As the former deputy governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Enugu State, I have unwavering loyalty to Peter Obi and the Obidient movement, and it is a testament to my commitment to the cause of election victory.

“I want to call on Nigerians, particularly the Obidient Movement supporters, not to relent in their efforts but to become even more involved in the political process to ensure a landslide victory for the coalition.

“As the coalition navigates the complexities of the upcoming election, we must remind ourselves of the Importance of strategic unity and the sacrifices necessary to achieve victory.

“My advocacy for Obi’s candidacy is not just a preference but a strategic imperative for securing a decisive victory in 2027.
