ADC chieftain, Hon Abdullahi Umar
An ADC chieftain, and former candidate of the House of Representatives in Tarauni Federal Constituency during the 2023 general elections, Hon Abdullahi Umar, has again tackled Mr Dumebi Kachikwu, the former presidential candidate of the party, describing him as a willing tool of destabilization working to undermine the coalition and the ADC, which is working earnestly to rescue the country.
Speaking Wednesday during a press conference in Abuja, Hon Umar said: “Mr Kachikwu has taken his resentment for Nigerians and the coalition a bit too far. He has resorted to name-calling, labelling some top ranking members old men, geriatrics and other unprintable names. Let it be known to Mr Kachikwu, ageing is an inevitable trajectory of life. Making mockery of individuals on the account of their age, is a shallow and inept premise. Therefore, it shows Mr Kachikwu lacks emotional intelligence.
“On his allegations or claim that the party was forcefully taken over, by men of yesteryears. He doesn’t understand the dynamics of party politics. There are different arms in a political parry: the BoT, NWC, and NEC. I ask again, which arm does Mr Kachikwu belong to? He says you cannot come to a man’s house through the back door and take ownership; which house is he talking about? What stake does he have in the old ADC? To the best of my knowledge, none”.
Hon Umar continued: “If you follow the pattern of personal attacks on leadership of the coalition by Mr Kachikwu, it has semblance with, and is consistent with that of spokespersons of this administration. It is a well scripted playbook, drafted by agents of this administration, and anchored by Mr Kachikwu. It is an open secret, he is working for the APC. He did that in the past. So, he is thwarting the very rescue mission, of the ADC, he resents. The blatant an unhinged attacks, particularly on the former Chairman, Dr Ralph Nwonsu, the present chairman, Distinguished Senator David Mark, the secretary, HE Rauf Aregbesola, is a pointer that Mr Kachikwu, is working hard to earn his paycheck from the APC. But Nigerians are wiser, more united and determined to have the kind of country we all deserve”.
Speaking further, Hon Umar said: “Indeed, these are both interesting and dangerous time for any opposition. The APC is jittery. It has failed Nigerians. They would deploy all sorts of antics to destabilize the ADC, using unpatriotic elements, the likes of Mr Kachikwu. We are well aware of subterranean moves of the APC- led government to plant moles and agents, to infiltrate our party through whatever means. Nigerians should rise and see through the lies of the APC through their proxies. Obviously, these are enemies of the much needed progress of Nigeria, which the ADC is set to bring about.”
