The North-West geo-political zone in the Senate has fixed July 18 and 19 for the zone’s public hearing on constitution review exercise.

Deputy President of the Senate, Jibrin Barau who presided over plenary made the announcement of the new dates in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the zonal public hearings for the exercise were held earlier in July across the five geo-political zones.

However, that of the North-West was postponed by the upper chamber in honour of the late elder statesman and philanthropist, Aminu Dantata, who passed away in Saudi Arabia.

Barau urged all senators across the 21 Senatorial Districts in the zone to attend the zonal public hearing and facilitate attendance of their constituents during the exercise.

“I urge all senators from the zone to facilitate the attendance of people for inputs into the very important exercise.”

Barau who chairs the senate committee on constitution review also urged all concerned Nigerians in the zone to come up with their memoranda on areas of amendments they want in the constitution. (NAN)
