Pastor Paul Enenche
Dr. Paul Enenche, founder and senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja, has openly declined a donation of N30 million from the Kebbi State Government during a public crusade held in the state.
The dramatic moment unfolded on Wednesday at the Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi, where Dunamis International hosted a healing and deliverance crusade.
As part of the event proceedings, representatives of the state government took the stage to make an announcement on behalf of the Governor.
Addressing the gathering, the announcer declared: “Our Governor, the people’s governor had graciously approved the donation of the sum of N30 million to this gathering. That is to the organizing committee. Which you know that whenever His Excellency made a donation, he do not leave without bringing that donation in cash.”
However, even before the crowd could fully absorb the news, a dissenting voice—later identified as that of Pastor Mrs. Becky Enenche—could be heard saying a firm, “No, no,” through the microphone.
Despite the interruption, the announcer pressed on with his message, emphasizing his intent: “Before I leave this place, I want to present that N30 Million in cash.”
Mrs. Enenche, standing her ground, once again interrupted with a calm but resolute, “Just hold on,” even as sections of the crowd responded with cheers and applause.
Moments later, Dr. Paul Enenche himself took over the microphone to address the situation, offering clarity and conviction behind the decision to turn down the gesture.
“We believe government money should be used for government project, and government things, and church money should be used for church things, not mixed together,” he explained, drawing applause from members of the congregation who appreciated the principled stance.
Dr. Enenche went on to share that the Dunamis Glory Dome, the ministry’s world-renowned auditorium, was constructed without a single kobo from any government entity—underscoring the church’s commitment to financial integrity and independence. (PMNEWS, but headline rejigged)
