The coast now appears clear for Ude Okoye to resume office as the new National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

He replaces Senator Samuel Anyanwu who has to this point refused to relinquish the position.

The PDP National Secretariat has officially received and acknowledged the certified true copy of the judgement of the Enugu Court of Appeal, which affirmed Ude as the substantive National Secretary of the party.

The Court document, sighted by Vanguard, indicated that the judgement was received and acknowledged by the office of the PDP National Legal Adviser at the National Secretariat, in Abuja on Tuesday, December 24.

With acknowledgement of the Appeal Court

Judgement, the Party is believed to have accepted Ude Okoye as replacement for Anyanwu.

This position is further strengthened by the fact that Anyanwu is reported to have tried, but failed, to obtain an order to stay the execution of the judgement ousting him from office.

Recall that the Court of Appeal sitting in Enugu had on December 20, 2024 upheld the judgment of the High Court affirming Ude?s appointment as National Secretary following his nomination by the South East zonal executive and other stakeholders. (Saturday Vanguard)
