Anambra APC guber aspirant, Paul Chukwuma
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
Amidst the rising insecurity in the recent times in Anambra State, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Paul Chukwuma, has questioned Governor Chukwuma Soludo?s management of the state?s security vote.
He cited that the primary goal of government is the protection of life and property, yet people are kidnapped and maimed almost on daily basis in the state.
Speaking to journalists in his country home of Umeri in Anambra East Local Government Area of the state; Chukwuma said: ?Anambra State is becoming increasingly insecure.
?We live in an environment of fear. Every day, people are kidnapped??
While questioning the use of the state?s security vote, he wondered what the governor does with the funds.
He appealed to the state government to take responsibility for the security of its citizens, noting: ?Tackling insecurity should be the government?s top priority.
?As the Christmas season approaches, I urged the governor to ensure the safety of Ndi Anambra returning home for the holidays. The current state of insecurity is unsustainable and I appeal to the state government to take decisive action to address the issue.
?There is no evidence that Soludo is supporting the security agencies. We have not seen vehicles given to the police. Nothing is being done, and all we get are empty promises and big grammar. It?s a shame.?
This is not the first time Governor Soludo?s administration has been slammed or criticised over its handling of security in the state.
