A wheelbarrow pusher simply identified as Peter, an indigene of Benue State has been arrested by detectives of the Nkpolu Police Division in Mile 3 Diobu area of Port Harcourt over death of his female lover simply identified as Mummy, an Ogoni indigene in Rivers State.
It was learnt that the deceased woman who sells perishable food items at Bishop Okoye Street died at her lover’s house on Thursday after she visited him to pass the night there.
It was gathered further that the wheelbarrow pusher, Mr Peter in the early hours Friday, the next day raised an alarm after discovering the lifeless body of his lover.
A source in the neighborhood disclosed that the neighbours following the development alerted the Police who got to the scene for on the spot assessment, arrested the prime suspect and evacuated the corpse as the cause of the death of the victim is yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko who confirmed the incident, added that the prime suspect has been arrested, while investigation is ongoing.
