Labour Party LP governorship aspirant for the 2025 gubernatorial election, John Nwosu

A governorship aspirant of the Labour Party (LP) for the 2025 gubernatorial election, John Nwosu, has expressed sadness on the gory killing of some defenceless citizens in Nibo community on Sunday.
Recall that a yet to be identified gang stormed the community market area on Sunday afternoon (October 20, 2024) and opened fire, killing ten on the spot, leaving others with varying degrees of injury.
Nwosu in a statement made available to journalists in Awka said: ?I received with deep sadness, the news of the gory killing of several people in the Nibo community in Awka South Local Government Area, yesterday, Sunday, 20thOctober, 2024.
?As the true story of the gruesome shooting unfolds, my thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased and injured.
?This extremely sad and troubling incident underpins the rising level of insecurity in our state. It is simply scary and unacceptable. Citizens expect government to protect them and for those involved in such a nefarious act to be apprehended and brought to justice immediately.
?The government cannot be allowed to be derelict in its responsibility to protect innocent and defenseless citizens. We envisage an expeditious and full investigation of this heinous act with a view to bringing the perpetrators to book.?
