“Maulud gives one the opportunity to show gratitude and appreciation to Almighty Allah for the birth of our holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and His companions.

“We have embarked on a procession round the town, chanting solidarity songs and showing our gratitude to Allah for the life our Prophet, a man of unmeasurable qualities.

“This period offers us the opportunity to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), his leadership qualities in promoting peace, unity, togetherness and solidarity among communities of Muslims.

“We also share love by giving charity to the needy, chant verses from the Holy Book, thereby, emulating the virtues and compassion of the Holy Prophet” he said.

NAN reports that, Maulud Nabiy is celebrated in commemoration of the birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), considered as the last messenger of Allah.
