Scene of the drastic accident
A man, Alhaji Musa Baba, and his wife, Fatima Baba, have been crushed by a car while on their way to the farm on a motorcycle in Abaji Area Council of the FCT.
A witness said the accident happened around 3pm on Sunday close to the Abaji General Hospital junction when a Mercedes Benz coming from the Gwagwalada axis ran over them.
He said, “The man died on the spot while his wife gave up at the hospital where she was rushed to.”
It was gathered that officials of the FRSC who arrived at the scene, evacuated the corpse to the hospital.
It was further gathered that funeral prayers for the couple were held at the Abaji Science Primary School football pitch led by Deputy Imam of Abaji Central Mosque, Malam Ishaq Baba Tsana.
Meanwhile, residents of Abaji have appealed to the Federal Ministry of Works to construct an overhead bridge/interchange in order to reduce the incessant accidents and loss of lives in the area. (Daily Trust)
