President Bola Tinubu has removed Olufemi Adekanmbi from his position as Project Coordinator of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP). just 48 hours after his appointment, which was made official on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
He has also approved the reinstatement of Prof. Nenibarini Zabbey as the Project Coordinator of HYPREP.
A statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President, Media and Publicity, on Monday, said the President reached the decision following a performance review of the HYPREP Project Coordinator.
“The President concluded that the Project Coordinator was fit to discharge his functions in accordance with the regulations guiding the execution of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project.
“By the directive of the President, the reinstatement of the HYPREP Project Coordinator takes immediate effect,” said the statement.
Zabbey was first appointed HYPREP Coordinator in May 2023 by former President Muhammadu Buhari. (Adapted from a NAN report)
