Spokesperson for Ondo state police command, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya
The 86-year-old woman, Iya Biodun, who was set ablaze by her daughter over witchcraft allegation has died at the Ondo Trauma Centre.
Iya Biodun suffered severed burnt after her daughter, Abiodun, poured petrol on her and set her on fire.
Abiodun said she committed the act because a Pastor informed her that her mother was responsible for her predicament.
The suspect had said: “I called my mother out of the house around 5 a.m. and set her ablaze because of what I heard, that she’s behind my problems.”
Ondo Police spokesman, Funmilayo Odunlami, who confirmed the incident said the suspect would soon be charged to court. (The Nation)
