Edo 2024 Governorship Candidate, Dr Ighodalo
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, Dr Asue Ighodalo, has sent warm felicitations to all fathers across the country, particularly, those in the state, charging them to ensure that they remain relevant always and continue to be the superheroes they are.
In a statement by his media team in Benin on Sunday, Ighodalo was quoted as saying: “I send my warm felicitation to you all on this occasion of Father’s Day. It is not an exaggeration to say you’re the compass for many, the hope that inspires, the pathfinder and role model with no equal that many confidently look up to.
“And for that reason, we have a daunting task to always challenge the present, and possibly, future generation of our children to imbibe the virtues of hard work, honesty and integrity, humility and respect, selflessness and compassion to reflect the ideals we hold dear.”
“It is, therefore, imperative that as fathers, we strive to continuously remain relevant as the superheroes that God has created us to be,” he stated.
Ighodalo also appealed to all the fathers in Edo State to kindly go out during the coming governorship election in September to exercise their franchise and thereby be part of the decision making process of how Edo State should be governed and by who. He, however, appealed to them to observe decorum during the election period, saying; “No violence, thuggery or any unruly acts.”
