Gov Umo Eno
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has said that he will soon invade creeks around the state to weed off criminal elements.
Governor Eno handed down the assurance in Uyo on Tuesday, during a media briefing to mark his one year anniversary in office.
“We have traced, arrested and confronted people for every kidnapping in this state.
‘We will soon come out with a clear cut access to command and control; we need members of the public to volunteer information. Some communities harbor these criminal elements and they see it as business. We will soon make some shocking arrests.
“We are taking the fight to criminals in the creeks. Check on your children, there will be casualties because we can’t allow this to go on,” he said.
Governor Eno assured that he has served the state within the last one year with integrity and has continued to work within his agenda to the best of his ability.
“I have served Akwa Ibom in the last one year with the integrity of my heart. What we want for our state is to serve our people.
“We have tried our best,, to the best of my ability under God, I have served Akwa Ibom with all my heart,” he stated.
The governor said already he has terminated the contracts on four roads where the contractors failed to live up to the expectations and currently working on re-awarding them.
Governor Umo Eno has within the past one year executed projects in the health, agriculture, education, aviation sectors, as well as security and road infrastructure across the state in line with his ARISE agenda.(Daily Independent)
