The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won big in Saturday’s local government council elections as it has cleared all the eight local government council seats declared by the Bayelsa State Independent Electoral Commission (BYSIEC).
In the first result declared, Mr Bulodisiye Ndiwari of the PDP was declared winner in Yenagoa Local Government Council.
According to the returning officer, Chief Wisdom Soreh stated that Ndiwari polled 56,103 votes to be declared return elected.
In Governor Douye Diri’s home council; Kolokuma/Opokuma, the PDP chairmanship candidate, Lelei Tariye was declared elected by the returning officer, Prof Apuega Arikawei having polled 27,823 votes.
Dr Godrick Tams Deiduomo, returning officer for Ogbia Local Government Area stated that PDP Chairmanship candidate, Golden Jeremiah polled 42,462 votes to emerge winner. (The Sun)
