The Kano State Government has set up a judicial commission to inquiry to investigate cases of political violence, murder and missing persons from 2015 to 2023,Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has said.

Speaking at the mini National Convention of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Abuja on Saturday, the Governor said the State has put machineries in place to recover misappropriated properties and assets belonging to the state.

He said these include houses, institutional buildings, land, farms, adding the State has also inaugurated a judicial commission of inquiry to look deeper into all issues of misappropriation in the state and ensure that justice is done to the state and to all residents alive.

The Governor said despite the challenges of litigation which slowed down the fulfillment of his campaign promises, his government has achieved some giant strides in the last 11 months.

He described the NNPP as the thirdlargest party in the country with “21 federal legislators and almost 30 State legislators and one executive governor and one deputy governor.

“This, I must say was made possible because of all of you, because of your support and understanding, the members who have given your all to ensure that our party that was unknown to majority Nigerians has become the darling and the party to watch because of the quality of people that congregate in its fault.

“Our party is the fastest growing political party in this country. Let me share at this juncture. Let me pay special tribute of course to our national leader, his Excellency distinguished Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso who it was that provided the compass to guide our navigation and our eventual successes.

“We therefore thank him purposely for the quality, leadership and selfless guidance we pray fervently to Allah to increase his health, wisdom and longevity.

“Inspite of over eight months of litigation that was deliberately inflicted on us to undermine the smooth running of government in Kano State, we are able to make some appreciable achievements into fulfilling our campaign promises and impetuous of the provision of our party’s manifesto to recover, reconstruct and commence free pediatric care.

“We have equally assisted Kano state students studying in tertiary education institutions here in Nigeria. We suffered to settle the registration commitments in their respective tertiary education institutions.

“We have gone far in providing comprehensive renovations and upgrading, including the provision of seats, desk, etc. Etc. To numerous basic and post basic schools across the state. We have also opened 21 out of the 26 skills accusation institutes that were conceptualized constructed by the administration of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso but were shut down by the previous administration as well as commencing the construction of about 100 brand new gero second school upper stage.” (The Nation)
